How long does an EPDM rubber roof last?
A correctly installed EPDM roof typically lasts 30 to 50 years. It requires very little maintenance compared to felt systems and performs exceptionally well in coastal and exposed locations.
Is EPDM better than GRP or felt?
For large open flat roof spans on garages, extensions and outbuildings, EPDM is often the best choice. For smaller roofs with complex detailing, GRP may be preferable. We will advise honestly on survey.
Can EPDM be laid over an existing roof?
Sometimes. We assess the substrate on survey. If it is clean and structurally sound, an overlay with insulation may be possible. We will always advise honestly on whether a full strip is needed.
What colour is EPDM?
Standard EPDM is dark charcoal/black. Parapet walls and trims can be colour-matched to suit your property.
Can you upgrade to a warm roof at the same time?
Yes. We recommend adding PIR warm roof insulation during the installation. It improves thermal performance, eliminates condensation risk and avoids a second mobilisation.
